Best american food in Sacramento!! We always love coming to Skips Kitchen because they are efficient, amazing service, and great homestyle food. We have tried many different dishes from sandwiches, to burgers, to appetizers, to salads, and have never been disappointed, This place deserves more recognition!!
The food here is delicious! First time I tried it the western was one of the best burgers I've ever had! Service is great and the guys running it are funny and very on top of things. Only reason for the 4 starts is because I've been back multiple times and it always seems to vary a little in quality. It's never bad but it's just never as good as the first time we ate here (not a deal breaker we will still be back). Place is usually busy and pretty packed. Inside is a little small and tight but they do offer nice outdoor seating.
Another great meal at Skips Kitchen! Katie had the Tortilla soup, I had a bacon and cheddar burger with onion rings. Service was quick and friendly as always. Caleb was taking orders and keeping customers happy. Came in to a full house with. Couple tables just opening up. Had a nice visit with both Skip and Caleb.
My last review was 11 years ago and I am here to say i still love these place! Carmicahel is so lucky to have Skip and his family. The staff is always welcoming. It's always clean and seating can be difficult but opens up quickly. The beer is always cold. Burgers are the best there is. That's it! You can't tell me any other burger better. Cooked to perfection, seasoned, and topped with fresh ingredients. The soups are are always yummy. The salads are the best k love them all but steak is my favorite. The shrimp appetizers are delicious. Great milkshakes! I always get garlic fries extra garlic bc I love garlic. If you haven't tried Skips your missing out! One day I'll pull the joker! Iykyk
Best burger yet in the Sacramento area. Loved this place and the food was perfect. The burger was cooked to perfection and super juicy, and the salads and soup were fresh and delicious. Had the mushroom swiss burger and my daughter had the grilled ceasar with steak .. both were 100% great. Service was excellent too which made the experience even better. I'll be back here as a regular for sure. Highly highly recommend if you want a great burger.

Had a hankerin' for a juicy, large burger and since I was in the area, decided to try this place. It did not disappoint! I decided to try the Three Cheese burger. It did not take long for it to come out to the table once ordered inside at the counter. The brie, blue and provolone cheeses drenched the top of the meat. The bun was fresh and held together well. Lettuce, tomatoe, red onions and a delightful special sauce complimented the patty well. The patty was a decent size, a bit more than a quarter lb it seemed. Once I bit into it, the juice dripped out and all the cheeses made it so delicious! A side of perfectly fried, crinkle cut potatoes came with it. I was seated outside since I had my dog. They have a handful of tables outside and welcome dogs. The server was really friendly when he came out with my food. He even brought out water for my dog. I cannot wait to return!

Definitely agree with ALL of these positive reviews! Food/Service/Staff!! Stepping in, I felt like I just came home to visit family after a long time away! My partner and I came in on Saturday and were fortunate to grab seats in a fairly decent amount of time, as it's just a smidge busy during the weekend. Soooo probably best to come in earlier if that's not your kinda thing. My partner ordered the Mushroom & Swiss Burger and I ordered the BOM (Bacon & Onion Marmalade) with upgraded Garlic Parmesan crosscut fries. Burgers/Sliders were cooked medium rare, which is how we prefer. Fries were actually very crispy, which was a pleasant surprise as they can become soggy after a while. And yes, even a draw for the Joker (Which I was extremely lucky and fortunate to have drawn!) cards are also used as your table number while you wait for your meal. All in all, this was a very pleasant meal and experience, yes a little busy, but great experience and everyone at Skips is absolutely amazing!
I have been doing work down the road off and on and i have been visiting every chance i get. Everything about this restaurant is top notch, service and food. Something different about their food, quality ingredients and always fresh. A few tvs in the place with sports, and the owner is probably one of the coolest guy's you will meet, all of his employees are great too. Today i ordered the Bacon & Cheddar Burger with pastrami added. Well done as always. Well deserved 5 stars. Also fun part of eating here, they give you a chance to eat for free by pulling a joker from a deck of cards! Kinda fun.
